Have you ever wondered what it might be like to communicate with a mannequin in a shop? Well, now it may happen to you. House of Fraser in Aberdeen, Hawes & Curtis in London, and Bentalls in Kingston-upon-Thames are trialling a new system whereby shoppers with the appropriate app can check the details about the clothes that a mannequin is wearing and get details of the pricing and links to the retailer’s website. Meanwhile, the shop will be able to find out more about their shoppers.
The VMBeacon is being provided by Iconeme, and can be programmed by the retailer via a secure web portal to pump out information to the shoppers. The app will alert a shopper when they are within 50 metres of the VMBeacon, telling them about various content including offers.
